We Are a Certified Women Owned Business

Certified by the WBENC

Everyone Loves Buttons® was founded in 1997, and since then we have worked to consistently be the best in our industry. Our company’s president, Maura, has a top priority of providing you with the best quality service possible. We do this by providing in-house design and production services, and always giving you our legendary customer service.

Since 2008 we have been a nationally certified women owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). This group is the largest certifier of women owned and operated businesses in the United States. As an independent and non-profit organization, they always remain unbiased with their certification process.

Who is the WBENC?

The WBENC provides women entrepreneurs with resources and programs that facilitate growth and connections within the businesses they certify. Their efforts help women navigate owning a business and ensures their future success. The tools they provide are important for helping women become empowered within the business field, and helps ensure their lasting success despite the challenges they face. The WBENC actively advocates for its certified members, promoting them to corporations around the United States and to their online audience.

Not all businesses are certified by the WBENC. Being certified means that a business is at least 51% owned and controlled by women, who also manage the daily operations of their company. We have been proudly certified as women owned for over 10 years, and strive to continue to be the #1 women owned button business in the United States.

By purchasing from us you will not only get fantastic looking buttons for all your needs, but you will also be showing your support for women in business! Click here to order your own custom buttons today.

How to have “Print Ready” Images

Today we are going to explain what we mean by “print ready” artwork, and how you can prep your images so they look their best for your button order.

What types of files do we accept?

Our graphics department accepts many types of image files, but like everyone they have their favorites!

Best:

Files in these formats are the best to send, as they are the easiest to work with:

.psd (Photoshop)

.ai (Illustrator)

.indd (InDesign)

.pdf

.eps

Good:

Images must be 300 dpi to print clearly!:

.jpg

.png

.tiff

For more information on how pixel density can affect print quality, check out this post by the University of Michigan’s Library: https://guides.lib.umich.edu/c.php?g=282942&p=1885350

What color mode should your image be in?

Digital images can exist in two different color modes, depending on how you want to show them off! The first is RGB, and is what television sets, computer monitors, and phone screens use to show you images.

We here at Everyone Loves Buttons® use a 4-color process for printing your orders that requires the CMYK color mode to ensure the colors you submit are the colors that print!

If you create images in document programs like Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, it is likely the color mode is not correct for printing. Always double check the color space and convert!

What do we mean by “Print Ready”?

This means that:

  1. The color mode is set to CMYK
  2. The file type can support layers
  3. The design is placed into our button template
  4. The design and our template are placed on separate layers
  5. The image has a resolution of at least 300 dpi
  6. All your images are embedded into the file you send us

It is very important that your image and our template are on separate layers. Please do not flatten the layer with our template onto your image.

If you are using a specialty font in your image, please outline the text so that we can access your design without error messages.

What if I can’t meet all the requirements for “Print Ready”?

Don’t worry! Our $29 Art Fee gives you access to our super talented design team that can help you every step of the way. Our team can create almost any design you can think of. From simple designs, to photo manipulations and beyond, they can accomplish any challenge given to them. Our Art Fee also gives you unlimited revisions, ensuring you are 100% satisfied with your design, every time!

So what are you waiting for? Order your own custom buttons today!

Happy 122nd Birthday, Pin-back Buttons!

On this day back in 1896, Benjamin S. Whitehead patented a design that led to the pin-back buttons we know and love today. His design featured a cellulose cover to protect a photograph that would be attached to a badge backing, ensuring it would not be torn or ruined by the elements. This was an innovative design that helped ensure the future success of pin-back buttons to the present day.

But did you know buttons predate this patent? George Washington used buttons with a flat metal face embossed with a slogan for his presidential inauguration back in 1789. These buttons would be sewn into a coat lapel, or worn as a pendant on a string.

Since Whitehead’s patent, pin-back buttons have been used to help promote comic characters, company products, and political campaigns. The Kellogg Company famously used them as cereal box prizes in 1945, developing a collectors series that quickly gained popularity in the United States.

Pin-back buttons have helped people and companies share their message with others, offering everyone a durable method to promote what they believe in. Here at Everyone Loves Buttons®, we believe in helping you share your message with the world. From advertising your business, spreading the word about your campaign, or even sharing your personal catchphrase with friends, we offer a variety of sizes and styles to suit all your button needs.

We can provide full service with your order, from helping you design the perfect button, full-color and top quality printing, and our legendary customer service to help you each step of the way. As a Certified Women Owned Business that has been active for over 21 years, nobody knows buttons better than us!

Black History Month and Buttons

Black History Month

Along with Valentine’s Day, February is the time of year that America and many other countries celebrate Black History Month. With it’s origins rooted in the 50 years following the abolishment of slavery, Black History Month has come a long way in recognizing the unique achievements of African American people from all around the globe.

It all started in 1915 when famed historian, Carter G. Woodson, and prominent minister and activist, Jesse Moreland, created the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. The organization worked to identify and celebrate the accomplishments of black Americans and their African ancestors. In 1926, the ASNLH proposed the dedication of an entire commemorative week to their cause. The second week February was chosen to recognize what became known as national Negro History week, in honor of the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglas.

In the years following the establishment of Negro History week, the event exploded across the country as the mayors of several major cities began designating yearly celebrations to mark the occasion. Nearly 40 years after the initial idea was first proposed, Negro History week had morphed into Black History Month with President Gerald Ford officially recognizing the yearly event in 1976.

In addition to recognizing the contributions of countless African Americans overall, each Black History Month features a specific theme. In 2018, Black History Month will honor “African Americans in Times of War”. It will mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and highlight the involvement of black soldiers and civilians in all American conflicts from the American Revolution to current standing warfare.

Everyone Loves Buttons client, The NBA’s Golden State Warriors, (@Warriors) have ordered custom buttons to help celebrate Black History Month. The team has organized multiple in-game activities and community outreach efforts along with a T-shirt giveaway for 10,000 fans that took place at the first home game of the month. Every T-shirt and each button carries the phrase, “Black History is Golden”. The Warriors have also teamed up with BAYCAT Academy, a local non-profit that works to educate youth in digital media production, to create a selection of videos highlighting the work of Bay Area leaders and influencers.

You can still order custom buttons for your Black History Month event throughout the end of the month. We can apply any message that you’d like to broadcast to the world in support of the many historical achievements of black Americans or create a more current look with a #blacklivesmatter button or refrigerator magnet.

Visit Everyone Loves Buttons to explore the many ways to show big support with a little button!

CustomButtons.com Gives Two Thumbs Up for Rickie Fowler!

Rickie Fowler Wore pin to Honor #1 Fan

Each day of the www.pgatour.com Rickie Fowler wore a pin (1.5″ Square Button) honoring one of his biggest fans, Griffin Connell. Connell passed away this January due to a rare airway disorder and he was only 7 years old. Connell braved many surgeries and was an inspiration to many because of his enthusiasm for life. Fowler met Connell in 2013 and they regularly exchanged texts and emails. “He was just a huge fan of the game,” Fowler said. “I claim him as being my No. 1 fan, so he had a special place with me and Joe (Skovron, Fowler’s caddie)”.

“We looked forward to seeing him and the family here at the tournament every year, so it’s unfortunate that we don’t have him here this week because he was fun to see.” The pin Fowler wore in honor of Connell meant a lot to many people and was created www.CustomButtons.com by Everyone Loves Buttons.

Monday, January 29th marked the first day of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The first two days consisted of practice rounds for the PGA Tour Pros and Wednesday was the Annexus Pro-Am. Many celebrities including singers, actors and athletes showed up to play at the Pro- am. Some favorites included Arizona Cardinals recently retired Head Coach Bruce Arians, six time All Pro Larry Fitzgerald, currently ranked fourth all-time in NFL history in receiving yards per game for a career, and Country Music star Dierks Bentley.

THE 16TH HOLE OF THE WASTE MANAGEMENT OPEN

The 16th hole is the place to be at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Here you can socialize while you cheer on your favorite PGA pros. However many players feel it has gotten crazy this year. Many PGA pros have become disappointed by the comments from people in the stands.  Even Rickie Fowler didn’t like the atmosphere of the 16th hole. “I was a little disappointed at some of the stuff that was said. I don’t want much negativity — the normal boos for missing a green, that’s fine, but leave the heckling to a minimum and make it fun.” Said Fowler. Fowler was runner-up to Hideki Matsuyama in 2016, and T4 last year.

Although Rickie Fowler didn’t win the tournament, we wish him well and will continue to cheer him on in the future for everything he has done to honor @GriffinConnell

CustomButtons.com Wants to Earn Your Business

At CustomButtons.com Legendary Service is our motto, what does it really mean?  Today I got a call today from a prospective client who wanted to get sample custom buttons mailed to him for a client. During this phone call this gentleman mentioned that he had contacted several button companies and none of them seemed that excited to mail him a freebie.  He thanked our company for the way we answered the phone, engaging with him from the start. I’ve always instructed office staff to sound energetic and positive since we want all callers to have positive experience.  I will certainly be getting that sample out in tomorrow’s mail and I have to say that we probably have a much better shot at earning this customers business than our competitor’s who should probably practice working on their phone etiquette.

Girl Scouts – No Prob-Llama

girl scouts CS

When you think of Girl Scouts, you might think of beige and green uniforms, Girl Scout Cookies, and little girls earning their badges. However the Girl Scouts are more than just that…

In 1912, founder Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low set out to create an organization that would prepare young girls for the world using three C pillars: Courage, Confidence, and Character. Today the Girl Scouts Missions Statement reads: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. It took Juliette and 18 other girls in Savannah, Georgia to create the Girl Scout movement that is thriving today. Over 90 countries and more than 59 million alumnae have come together to share adventures and make the world a better place with the nearly 3 million current Girl Scout members.

Did you know that celebrities like Taylor Swift, Abigail Breslin, Dakota Fanning, and Carrie Fisher, were once Girl Scouts themselves? Also 15 of the 20 women in the US Senate are Girl Scout alumnae.

With great leadership and role models, the Girl Scouts are able to help girls develop their full potential through a wide variety of experiences, which include field trips, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships.

One way that the Girl Scouts are able to develop their full potential is through the Girl Scout Cookie Program. This cookie program is the largest girl-led business in the world. An estimated 200 million boxes of cookies are sold each year, which equates to nearly $800 million worth of cookies. Girl Scouts believes that by having their girls sell cookies, the girls are learning life skills and confidence. The girls learn about goal setting, money management, people skills, and business ethics, which are all essential skills to learn to be a successful leader in life. The most popular cookie sold each year are the Thin Mints, followed closely by Samoas/Caramel Delights and Tagalong/Peanut Butter Patties.

By being a Girl Scout, not only will you have new experiences, you will get to see how amazing the world around you is and just how awesome you, the girls, and women around you truly are.

Here are Everyone Loves Buttons, we understand what it takes to be a success Women Owned Business and we love seeing the Girl Scout buttons that come through here each year. This year we received an order of buttons from the Girl Scouts of Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont that are positively adorable. Getting Girl Scout cookies from them will be No Prob-llama! #LuvMyButtons
